​In 2020, the team of the Institute of Energy and Chemical Industry Technology of Shenyang University of Chemical Technology began to cooperate with Xinjiang Zhizhen Chemical Engineering Research Center Co., Ltd. to jointly apply and be approved as the "Key Technique for Directed Synthesis of Dimethyl Oxalate" in the key field science and technology research project of Shihezi City, 8th Division.

The diethyl oxalate solvent independently developed by Xinjiang Zhichuang Materials is replacing the traditional butyl acetate solvent. Compared with the previous solvent method when producing rigid PVC foam materials, butyl acetate solvents have always restricted the development of the industry due to many disadvantages such as high cost and poor supply stability.
